From doing it the other week best bet is just replace, pretty simple job. I also did the water pump at the same time but probably didn't need to after inspection of the old one.

Yeah I was coming to that conclusion! Having had a look it's leaking fluid from thejoin between the LP and HP sides. Replacement on the cards. Do I need to remove the viscous fan to get it out? Thanks for replying!

Viscous fan off does give you a bit more room and is easier to sort the drive belt

Aand flatdog viscous fan spanners are only £16. Decision made!
