Recommend a head unit for an imbecile?
Hi all,

I wonder if anyone can recommend a head unit that might be suitable for a 45 year old luddite - perhaps one that has lots of labelled buttons and dials rather than screens and menus.

I really struggle with the Alpine unit that is standard in my 2.2 xs and want to replace it with something simpler to operate.

Its a second vehicle and doesnt get much use so i dont want to spend the earth... but when i do drive it, i find myself listening to inane drivel rather than being able to find a station i want simply, or switch it to bluetooth...

any suggestions?

No advice getofmyland, but I have to agree with you, that Alpine head unit Land Rover fitted is properly overly complicated. The buttons are far too small for easy use.

Get an Apple Carplay compatible double din unit and an Apple Music/Spotify/Amazon Music account then just use voice control to listen to whatever you fancy. Thumbs Up

"Hey Siri play Coldplays latest album" "Hey Siri, what's the weather for today?" "Hey Siri, navigate me home" "Hey Siri, "where is the nearest service station/Supermarket/Land Rover garage"

You'll wonder how you managed without it. Very Happy

Those inc dash will cost upwards of £400 as a minimum.

Buy one of these from eBay some as cheap as £30.00. Radios do not come any less complicated than this.
