Bonnet Adjustment advice
I have managed to break two bonnet release levers on my TD5. I swapped for a new cable last time but only a few months later and it broke again. Tonight I fitted a genuine LR unit.
I have noted the bonnet is a to close and requires a fair bit of height to let it fall so it will close. I can't just push it to close.
Do I need to adjust the latch to be a bit more open? (ie pull more wire through)
The centre of the pin seems to line up, though the bonnet is 1cm lower on one side than the other. The pin may be slightly off though I wouldn't' know.

Check the pin/spring. I tightened mine last week so the bonnet gap was tighter, which made it harder to close. You could try loosening it. The easiest way was to unbolt the pin/spring, tighten it with two spanners and then re-install.
As for levelling, do you still have the two rubber stops either side? if so, adjust those to level it.

If the rubber stops have been screw out too far they'll make it difficult to close.
Make sure the spring and the latch have plenty of grease on them too
