Ok so beyond the jokes of 'if Spain is made by LR it'll break while I'm there'.....
I'm off soon and it's just occurred to me there might be things I need to sort before I go other than just giving the insurance company a 'heads up'.....? Anything else I need to do or do I just rock up? got the high vis jackets and breathalysers - or is that just for France? many thanks, |

A few of those disposable diesel gloves from your local station, experience has taught me they are not as readily available.

In France, the pollution tags are only needed for one or twobig cities, more to follow in the future though. Not sure about Spain. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Brill.
Sounds like I'm good to go - pretty much. Fitted me new windscreen / bulkhead blocks and new drivers door seal tonight. Just leaves side steps to reassemble / fit, Door mirror arms, fridges, roof rack, reconnect diff lock linkage and replace map sensor. Oh and oil / filter change. And then me man bag and maps . Caterham, here is some interesting reading before hitting Spain's roads and fuel pumps. Have a good vacation.
Eric https://spainguides.com/spain-travel-guide/driving-spain/ You never actually own a Defender. You merely look after it for the next generation. http://youtu.be/yVRlSsJwD0o https://youtu.be/vmPr3oTHndg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GtzTT9Pdl0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABqKPz28e6A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLZ49Jce_n0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvAsz_ilQYU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8tMHiX9lSw https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxwjPuHIV7I https://vimeo.com/201482507 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSixqL0iyHw |

Check your tyre pressures - might save a few £ by adding a few lbs (see what I did there)
Paper maps back up for naughty satnav, check you have your security wheel nut, copy of v50 and ins docs, make photo copies of your bank cards and hide the or photograph them on you phone ( if your cards get pinched you'll need the numbers to report them), first aid kit, few cable ties, bottle of superglue and some duct tape ( you may want to kidnap someone) .. Enjoy your trip |
