Optimill quick release boss issues
Hi all Mr. Green have any of you that have fitted the optimill quick release boss had issues with it rattling? Fitted mine a week or so and it's starting to rattling on the two mating sections, was a solid fit when first fitted Big Cry
I've noticed they have removed them and the lock from the website and they haven't returned my email Shocked 2016 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 TDV8

Purchased one recently, fits great, no rattling. However it is a taste difficult to get on, not sure why seems I have to heavy push it on rather glide

lovely bit of kit and the lock looks and feels good too, mine glides on really nice and not stiff at all, just the annoying rattle, unfortunately i am one of those types who have to fix it Neutral 2016 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 TDV8

No rattles on mine either, tight fit, bit of a Censored to put on sometimes, the knack to it is just make sure it's square on to the boss and it slips on Thumbs Up Cogito ergo sum

Mine rattled until I filled the front tyres with Dynabeads, mind you everything including me rattled until l filled the front tyres with Dynabeads!

In one of two ways, depending on what suits best.

Either you bung them in the tyre when the tyre is fitted (or pop the tyre bead and insert them that way). In this case you can use the larger size dynabead which is recommended for 4x4 and truck tyres.

Alternatively if the tyre is on the wheel and you don't want to break the tyre bead, you use the smaller "standard" size dynabead and insert them from a little bottle with a short plastic hose through the valve stem, after removing the valve core. It's a little bit fiddly (and very boring since it takes a few minutes per wheel) but easy, then you replace the valve core and reinflate the tyre.

For my 255/85x16 BFG KM2s the bead supplier recommends 6.5 ounces of beads, which is what I put in. When driving, you get a little bit of a shake initially as the beads find their place at start up, but they do seem to make a huge difference. My tyres as they wore had become unbalanced to the extent that driving above 50 was profoundly unpleasant with everything shaking and rattling, and I really didn't think that the beads could solve this though I thought they might help. Now it is comfortable back up to the legal max.

Better still, since the balancing is dynamic, as the tyres continue to wear the beads simply sort themselves out and maintain the balance, whereas fixed weights won't. In my case, my Blindos won't really take fixed weights anyway.

All in all they seem to work far better than I had dared to hope, I am definitely a convert.

I fitted the Optimill QR boss about 3 months ago and noticed one of the two pins is slightly loose which i can feel when turning the steering wheel in a particular direction. Bothered me at first but have since got used to it. Otherwise very impressed with the build quality.
