Is it me? Or my Britpart Dual Battery Management System?
I've had to get my truck jump started three times in the last few weeks, even though I have a Britpart dual battery system.

Can anyone explain why?

The system was fitted a year ago on a recommendation. It manages two Odyssey PC1500 batteries. As I understand it, the batteries are linked whilst the vehicle is running (ie charged by the alternator).

But when the vehicle is stopped they are automatically unlinked. This isolates the starter battery so things like my fridge or inverter continue to run off the aux battery.

So even if I leave my fridge on for days, and runs down the aux battery, it shouldn't affect my starter battery right?

Well it does and the darn truck won't start. Starter battery flat as a pancake.

Has anyone else experienced this. Am I doing something wrong? I thought it was all automatic...

Is your starter battery any good? I mean is it actually taking a full charge?

Is the aux battery flat too or just starter battery?

Ie is it all connected up correctly?

Yeah both batteries normally show voltage when you hit the 'display' button.

Good question Caterham about checking if the AUX battery is actually flat (ie if they are wired the right way round).
Since this upgrade was supplied and fitted by a site sponsor I assume it would be, but need to rule that out I guess!

For now I just want to be clear that its not a switch or button I am missing that sets the starter battery to be isolated. Its automatic I thought...

We've had a lot of trouble with the Odysseys on the challenge trucks in my club. They measure the correct voltage over the terminals but they are flat as pancakes.
Have someone measure the voltage (with a multimeter) as you try to crank. My guess is you'll see the voltage drop quite a lot, like 6-10v.
Could be wiring as well obviously but the story certainly quacks like a familiar duck....

Next time you leave it why not disconnect the starter of Battery. And see. What's the charges like in the aux. And starter battery 3 days later. Compare that with leaving it connected. Odysseys aren't quite what they used to be, likewise seen quite a few issues with them on challenge scene lately Cheers
