I have similar in bright zinc finish not great.
I'd rather go SS and use a dissimilar metal paste, they get all rusty and orrible'. That's what I will do in time, of course not cheap though. KEEP CALM AND Drill ON 🇬🇧ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ¥ó ®ó §ó ¿ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ·ó ¬ó ³ó ¿ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ³ó £ó ´ó ¿ðŸ‡®ðŸ‡ªðŸ‡ºðŸ‡¸â›½ï¸ðŸ›¢ï¸âš™ï¸ðŸ§°ðŸ’ª |

Bought some cheap ones years ago still fine, but I suppose they live under canvas so don't get the weather on them.

HOW MUCH!
I have bought loads off the bay from firms that do van conversions etc and usually get 10 for that price. |

Stainless ones are often good prices for boats and yachts etc.
And indeed, eBay very good for those sort of things. Nothing specifically Defender about them. KEEP CALM AND Drill ON 🇬🇧ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ¥ó ®ó §ó ¿ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ·ó ¬ó ³ó ¿ðŸ´ó §ó ¢ó ³ó £ó ´ó ¿ðŸ‡®ðŸ‡ªðŸ‡ºðŸ‡¸â›½ï¸ðŸ›¢ï¸âš™ï¸ðŸ§°ðŸ’ª |

I've used these, they're fine for general tie downs in the back of a SW. Black painted looks better than the cr@p plated ones that are standard fitment.
£1.30 each incl bolt, nut and washer isn't an extortionate price. If they were constantly getting wet or in the back of a pick up, then maybe stainless would be better. |

I have the ones from Paddock, on the wings and the front of he roofrack, to fit the bush wires. They are several years on now, so weather exposed every day, but no signs of rust - in contrast what I had exected... Cheers, Vincent

I fitted some black ones from Flatdog in the back of my 90 SW. They have been in the vehicle since it was a week old - guess which ones have corroded, the tie downs fitted as standard by LR or the additional ones I fitted from Flatdog.
You guessed right - the LR OEM's have corroded. Defender 90XS SW Mini Countryman Cooper S Morgan Plus 8 |

I've just purchased a set of eight if these from eBay for £9.99, which arrived today and they look great. They're available even cheaper in larger quantities.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/8-Heavy-Duty-Bla...2749.l2649 Click image to enlarge From the pictures, they appear to be exactly the same as the Paddocks and Flatdog ones, albeit without bolts. The Flatdog offering in particular really is hugely overpriced though. It's easy to miss in the small print on Flatdogs web page, that their price is for 6.
That makes them only 5p each more than the eBay ones, but you also get a nut, washer and cap screw. Better value if you need the fasteners. Edit I've just noticed that FD also do a pack of 12 for £13.20, cheaper still. |
