In the 8 or so Defenders that have been in the family we've not had any gear selection issues, so I'd say it is unusual.

Can this be done with the box in situ or is it a removal job? I do not have access to a pit or lifting gear

OK just got back from the garage for an evalulation/estimate.......
He thinks its not the bias springs as its intermittent, it was absolutely fine driving it to and from the garage, he thinks a spring has come loose on the clutch plate and is sometimes in postition, and sometimes loose, he wants to replace the clutch and a few other bits as he will have the box out for about 700 quid........ YIKES Does that sound plausible/likely ? 2008 TDCi 2.4 XS CSW |
