Td5 misfire
Hello

Please can I have some help diagnosing what I believe to be a Misfire when slowing down/coasting. So when engine is a operating temperature when I come to a junction or simply slow down the engine shakes and to me feels like it could be a misfire? I have had it plugged into auto logic which checked the injectors, maf etc. With no codes.

Parts I have cleaned checked or changed.

New genuine injector harness check for oil. Small amount in red plug. Now cleaned.
MAP sensor cleaned
MAF reading were fine ( new 6 months ago )
Turbo wastegate not seized
EGR BLANKED
FORTE DIESEL treatment added
Plus It's just had a full Service.

Should i get the injector seals replaced as my old td5 kept cutting out etc due to these ? And the sensor in the air box believed to ambient air temp cause any problems related ?

Any help would be much appreciated

Alex

Hi Alex, I'm no expert but I have read that a stiff Westgate actuator valve under the turbo heat shield can produce similar symptoms, maybe worth checking?

I replaced my wastegate actuator with a new one from here:

Cured my under load misfire I've had for months.

Hi Alex. Perfectly normal for a 15p. Part of the fuel saving strategy in the software

Thanku MAXRPM, I have looked at those on eBay and nearly purchased one until I used a vacuum/pressure tester and it worked freely. But thank you.

Fatboyslim , you may be right but what concerns me it doesn't always do it and I'm old one didn't do
It at all. I have driven my friends and his doesn't do it. Mine is very noticeable and gives you that feeling something's
Wrong.

I have just received my new injector puller through the post along with new genuine seals and washers so Hopefully that will Cure it. Even though it's only done 60,000. I haven't yet heard of any needing them done that Soon?

Many thanks

Alex.
