I think its only the gps that has a need for the sun visors to be removed, i think they would be fine without the gps.

thanks guys -
Will look at this as an option - Not sure about cutting the headlining on a vehicle i've just bought Anyone on here installed this - it does look like a tidy install - but will need to consider hanging mic's I will be asking a few questions re adding kit as not owned a "new" style defender before - It was easy to install in the old dash in the TD5 this looks more of a challenge - Hugh Defender 110 County SW Disco 3 HSE Freelander 2 HSE - SOLD going back to a car www.lothian4x4response.org |

Thinking of fitting this to mine allowing a tidy install of a CB/VHF. Spoke to Peter at Nakatanenga and the only cutting involved is for the sun visors. Their is a thread on this somewhere on here and I think I'll get a spare set of sun visors and put them into an upholsterers to be cut and finished professionally. I like this one because it actually looks as if it came standard.

Now I do like this on and as you say it looks like it is meant to be there, but I'm not so keen on the radio not fitting in flush. If you look the radio sticks out a good inch or more. Russell 2011MY 110 XS USW Black |

This is what I have designed. The pic below is the mock up/prototype that has been in the car holding our private VHF and CB radios.
Yes the roof lining has to be cut, however you can retain the sun visors although they are not fitted in this pic. If there is interest of say 5 or 10 I could work a price out, clearly it would be a lot cheaper than the ones shown earlier in this thread. Another option which I've been considering myself is the Raptor Dash. Looks like a neat way to fit additional kit to your dash Ben

I've looked at this for the old 300tdi dash but its no good for the new one - and given that I have at times I have additional temp radios in the car I want my own to be well installed.
One other thought guys - I have a rig runner distribution board that I will bring from the D3 - ( it provides powerpole quick plug 12v there is a pic on my d3 gallery ) Where is it possible to put second fuse box - With twin batteries it will be bit tight in the battery box Defender 110 County SW Disco 3 HSE Freelander 2 HSE - SOLD going back to a car www.lothian4x4response.org |
