I'm after a project, ideally a 110 and probable v8 conversion
this has caught my eye and I like it...same age as me and somehow Ive convinced myself its cool http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/land-rover-3-ser...1438.l2649 not been to see it yet, and imagining given the price its going to be q rusty, then again apparently does have a fresh MOT but just wondered: - can you get replacement galvanised chassis for a 109? - is there an obvious visible reason the seller thinks its ex military? (the rear lights?) - any good reason I couldnt install a V8? thanks for any thoughts. cheers Dan Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

Just wonder what's under the chequre plate in the foot wells,
Thin air I guess? For that money I would go and see it, and have a good poke around at the chassis and bulkhead first. 80" 80" 86" 88" 90" Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered. |

Rear lights are late military pattern. Front sidelights look like early military pattern.
Inside rear tub is painted NATO Green and Black. It is not a visibly military chassis but could be a CL commercial logistic model which only has minor variations to civilian models. As others have said appears worth a look, and possibly buying at a project price as there would be much to do on it to restore or keep it running reliably. 1995 Defender 110 CSW 1971 SIIA Lightweight |

Also looks to have a military multi-function light switch unit in the centre of the dash. http://www.yorkshireoffroadclub.net/

It is ex military, as other have said it has military lights, military light switch, and military trailer connector on the cross member.

Based on the limited information available from the photos, there are definitely some military parts on it but I am not convinced that the vehicle as a whole is ex-mil. I am also of the opinion that there are parts from more than one vehicle (not unusual on a vehicle of that age). I think it *may* be of civilian origin rebuilt with ex-mil parts. The V5 may make it clearer, and a look at the vehicle itself will provide a lot of answers.
I have to wonder who thought welding the pintle to the drop plate was a good idea, and I hope whoever it was didn't do any other work on it. My candid view is that it may well be worth a look but, based on the photos, it isn't worth the asking price. There are better ones to be had for the money |

As above, I couldn't say either way if it's a genuine ex military?
But it's defenetly at the top end of the money he's asking. 80" 80" 86" 88" 90" Wanted, Forward Control Anything considered. |
