What to do while gearbox is off?
I have a leak, possibly from the crankshaft main seal which means gearbox off to investigate/replace.

While the garage have the gearbox off, what else should/could I have done at the same time? Clutch? Ashcroft output shaft kit if I'm feeling flush? Anything else worthwhile doing?

Thanks

Isn't the slave cylinder inside the bell housing on a Puma? Darren

Crankshaft rear main oil seal, Clutch driven plate, clutch slave cylinder, output adaptor shaft, centre diff backlash, handbrake check for oil incursion, front and rear output flange oil seals. Think that about covers all the things to check!

It would definitely make no sense to put the old clutch kit back in. There is an updated clutch slave cylinder with a couple of extra bits of plumbing too. You always replace the slave cylinder with the clutch on any vehicle with a concentric slave. Genuine clutches are quite reasonably priced.

When i did my clutch i also got the rear main seal, gearbox input shaft seal, ashcroft shaft kit, gearbox & transfer box oil changed. If your gear stick has excessive slop in it, then you can replace the selector too (i think it was under £100) and have the modified locating bushes fitted for the selector at the same time. The selector has to come off to get the box out anyway.
