I'm not 100% if the D2 fobs will work with the Defender but you can get a Range Rover style switchblade key for around £10, you just swap over the guts from your current fob and get the key cut. However the issue will be finding a key cutter that will cut your own key. In my experience they are not fond of cutting keys which are not supplied by them.

The D2 key system isn't compatible with the Defender. The D2 uses a Valeo system, Defender is Lucas.

![]() Don't want to go down the flip key route as it's going to be just as bulky as having a fob & a key but I guess it's that or one of those custom D2 lookalike keys. Cheers. |
