Hi, did mine on my Td5 at home.
It's a straightforward job just drill out the old rivets and rivet the new capping on. I just used a standard rivet gun the same as yours. You can support the roof and and get enough room to take the side panel out. When you fix the new rivets it's worth putting some tape around the rivets to stop the rivet gun scratching the paint. Yes it has a self adhesive seal between the body and the capping.
