Hi All,
After some advice from the locals or people who have visited this area before. Myself and the girlfriend are heading to the beacons for a couple of days for a mini holiday in a weeks time. Neither of us have visited this area before so are looking for ideas of things to do and places that are recommended to visit. We are then heading to the south coast and back to Cardiff and then back to the midlands. Im hoping to be taking the defender if I can iron out the issues before then. Were open to all suggestions and we both enjoy the outdoors. Cheers |

I would have recommended a visit to the caves at Dan Yr Ogof but they don't open untill the 13th February but as you're going to be in the Cardiff area St Fagans is worth a visit. It's one of those big outdoor museums where they have "collected" whole buildings from around Wales and resited them on site. The entrance is free, bonus, but to be honest no matter how dull you may find a museum, this place is worth a looksee. It has a working watermill, a whole village has been created with buildings from different ages. A cockfighting ring, a row of mineworkers cottages to prefab bungalows from the 1950's.
Here's a link to their website; http://www.museumwales.ac.uk/stfagans/#content |

I would go for lunch in the Nant Du which is on the road to the beacons.
Are coming down for the walking, hill climbing ![]() Go to the water falls at Ystradfellte, there are lots of small market towns to visit. Climb Pen y Fan You're not far from Likes Landrover when you break down. Jay |
