Any ideas what this is ?

Whilst refitting the dash in my 1999 300tdi 110 , I found this tucked up by the steering column. Was wondering if any of you knowledgeable folks know what it is, I have done a search to see what it is but can't seem to find anything. Looks like it may be a lucas item

If there is a factory alarm fitted then this pings the remote fob before allowing the vehicle to start. It should be fitted around the ignition barrel

Cheers, it's now got another alarm fitted, so I'll put this back in the loom in case I revert back.
