Alive springs
Hello,
Me again with questions.
I am today going to try the "Alive Comfort Springs" that came with my defender from the owner.

Is there anyone with experience of fitting these? I have 4 springs. 2 x same long and 2 x same short.

When i dismount the front springs (have not done back yet) I discover the driver side is more long a little than the passenger side on the standard spring.

Is it then the case that the long Alive springs are for the drivers side front and rear and the short for the passenger front and rear = both spring same front and rear?

Standard springs seem to be 4 different for each corner, but the Alive seem to be 2 of each the same.

Any help appreciated, the Alive springs are not marked in any fashion and box has not help letter.

Before I start the job I assume long on front and short on rear.

Longer on the rear, shorter on the front.

Don't worry about spring lengths on either side, that only applies to genuine.

They will be perfectly okay to swap to the Alive versions.

You also should not need any spring compressors either.

You may find a ratchet strap maybe useful at times too, just for a little extra help.

Thank you for the answers. It is more simple that one size for front and one for rear.

Are we sure the most long to the rear? I see another thread where the person has put the opposite Shocked

I think it must be correct.

I read now the reviews of this and very curious to do this change now. I sometimes like the bumpy bumpy but my wife want more comfort so she can stop complaining!

I always thought the longer spring was to counter any weight of load carried.

Had my 110 up some lovely Scottish highland country roads, gave the Alive springs a proper workout

Never known a Defender to handle like it. No understeer as per usual, beautifully neutral handling, with just the back tyres giving the occasional chirp when standing on the brakes the reign it all back in Bow down

That sounding and looking like lot of fun for a Defender! I onetime visit Scotland and I am still thinking this memory of beautiful place.

Correction: Alive tell me it is the "taller" on front. I have day off on Wednersday so make the transition and give review of road and in forest driving.
