Is it normal for the fuel filter to be warm/hot?
hi.
i decided to touch the fuel filter after a short run(few miles) it was warm and the hoses were warm too. i am always filling up and keeping tank half full or near that mark to keep pump cooled and so that it does not pick up dirt. The fuel level is Never near the orange part. Is it normal - heat buildup? it felt like when holding a cup of tea from the mug itself warm but not too hot to make me loose the grip.

sorry newbie in the td5 world.
Thanks
Joseph

It's because the Td5 has an internal fuel rail in the cylinder head, which warms the fuel as it passes through. This return fuel is routed through the filter housing to warm the filter and lines to prevent diesel waxing in cold climates Thumbs Up 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon
