Toolstation appear to have lots of Wera offers on right now.
And free delivery over £10. Thought some of you may want to have a look? I haven't looked to compare prices myself but there maybe something off there. If not on the spanners maybe screwdrivers etc etc. âï¸âï¸God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 âï¸âï¸ |

I've just bought a 10mm one off of Amazon in a combined order with other items. Looking forward to trying one out and going from there. Probably buy one or two at a time.
More expensive in the long run but I couldn't justify too much in one go. Not at the moment anyway. âï¸âï¸God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 âï¸âï¸ |

I received the 10mm and since had an 8mm arrive which I'll actually be using this week hopefully.
I am very impressed, I'm not sure about them being large to handle I think slightly the opposite. However, the ratcheting end is larger. (And BW is correct, some situations it may not fit.) (It does mean strength is there though.) But often more useful in certain situations than a socket in my view. I have gone for the same type as Blackwolf and not the new 'switch' version. I like the version I've bought, as you only have to flip it, and keeps it simple. I'd give them a 9.8 out of 10. Click image to enlarge âï¸âï¸God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 âï¸âï¸ |

I've nearly got the whole set of these, so impressed I'll likely get the switch version set one day also, possibly Christmas.
Tonight I've bought a Wera Stainless Allen key set. âï¸âï¸God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 âï¸âï¸ |

Blackwolf - They do indeed, I have the metric version at the moment.
The main benefit the switch version has as well as the standard kit like I have is the angle of the spanner it's sel as sometimes you cannot always use them flat against a surface. However, at £300 a set I think that might need to be a special purchase. I do think they are worth the premium price tag quality wise, and as suggested I think they will last a very very long time. âï¸âï¸God Bless the USA 🇬🇧🇺🇸 âï¸âï¸ |

these new ones look great, and the 15 degree angle would come in useful in some situations.
Just a warning for anyone that its fairly easy to break these if your using a impact driver. I've destroyed a spanner and a ratchet drive. On the upside both were replaced by a very nice lady at wera without fuss! |

I'm a bit of a Wera kit fanatic for work.
Have the 1/4" drive zyklops, koloss 1/2" drive/hammer, mini bit driver set, VDE drivers, Allen keys and joker 10,13,17,19mm set with switched/angled ratchets. It would appear that they've settled to be the industry standard kit for entertainment automation in the UK and US. At home I use a full set of metric ratchet wrenches by Gearwrench brand, they have the swivelling ends and are pretty solid kit IMO. One word of warning for any ratchet of the 'flip it over to change direction' style though: When loosening set screws in tight spaces it is possible to get the ratcheting wrench 'stuck' on the bolt in a situation where you can no longer loosen and can no longer remove it. Solution = tighten... But you can't. Similarly with the ratchet on the nut end when you're fastening: If the bolt pulls through and the gap between it and the next piece of structure is smaller than the size of the ratchet ... It's hard to imagine this state of affairs until you get yourself in it. Have fun with that moment when you think back to this thread Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants... |
