that's my dream car! I love the fords of that era, The closest I was to owning a ford of the 70s was a mk5 estate Cortina, the owner said yours for 500 quid, If I had the space that we have now for the car, id have snapped that up and done a street sleeper with it. Also for what they are going for now, I may have thought about keeping it standard Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back Success is 90% Inspiration and 4 minutes Preparation # you can make it! |

I had a mk2 escort Mexico and sold it for £400 The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results.

sods law really, you don't know until years down the line! I used to be into metros right up to last year. My 1st one was 180 quid, and only needed a window screen, and it was sorted. Insurance and rover going bust made me get shot, but a couple of years later I grabbed the GTA 16v for 180, this time this one needed extensive welding work, which we slotted in the 1.8, by then 3 years later after I got shot of the 1st one, they were getting thin on the ground and the prices were starting to rise. When I came to reshell that one into a 1.1s, they were starting to push the 500 quid marker for a the same condition as my 1st one was! So but the modified ones were no longer sort after at all, parts were getting well silly to get hold of and it become a money pit sadly. The metro scene though had really switched and started to keep as many as possible on the road. The Owners club is fantastic and I was well proud to have been a member of, I did share a lot of my know how, that I put to how do guides, ( there is a lot of questionable info) So I wanted to make sure the owners club got the proper stuff.
Anyway since the metro owners club pushing forwards the metro value jumped right up, the A series really has jumped well close to 10k! a lot of good ones were robbed for their engines sadly. k series ones suffered due to rover going out of the picture so parts were going to be a little tricky, but again these starting to rise onwards. It was great going from a modified 90s car to a modified classic with in a matter of years! But it was time to move on sadly and I ended up scrapping mine, no one would collect it due to the distance. Only a said few would have bought spares if I broke it, which wouldn't have been worth it. The scrap yard sold it as spare repair and its now back on the road Defender TD5 90 ---/--- Peugeot 306 HDI hatch back Success is 90% Inspiration and 4 minutes Preparation # you can make it! |
