Instrument Panel
Hi all,

I was thinking earlier, is it possible to install the Puma Instrument panel (rev counter etc.) into a TD5 Defender?

Yes, it is theoretically possible but it is very far from easy, since the Puma Ipac is CanBus based and the TD5 isn't.

Physically fitting the whole dash and bulkhead, yes.
Making the instruments work with the TD5, no.

There is an American company who had an old defender running a full puma dash. Can't remember where I've seen it though Rolling Eyes 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Unless you're going to install the entire Dash assembly there's not much point anyway. And i've so far not seen a Puma dash in an earlier car that didn't look like a dogs dinner. The gearsticks are further forward on the earlier models, so it emerges under the dash, add to the fact it blocks off the bulkhead vents, so really you need the entire heater system from a Puma too.

Easier to just buy a Puma.

I think the American company only managed to get the dash running with an LS1 I think so far.
