I have two Border Collies Loki and Mist and they are fine together although one dog Loki is the dominant dog. Two dogs can be expensive though. My two are the same age as they came from the same litter so there was no behaviour problem with introducing two dogs which is a thing you have to watch out for. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

It's the razor sharp teeth that worry me, I've done one round of it and not looking forward to another. Mrs S would name it after a Disney character or cartoon character from our childhood so she has Wordsworth (from Jamie and the Magic Torch), Wellington (a Womble), Copper (from Fox and the Hounds), Figaro (from Pinocchio). While I thought of calling it Muffin but that doesn't abbreviate well so compromised with Fig Muffin. I might get away with that and pretend it's called Figaro. But there's much discussion ahead. |

Tomorrow is the big day so I'll have more to say after the weekend. We're all ready but we're not exactly sure how to introduce the pup to Aunt Mina. When we get home Mina goes nuts for about half an hour yet she barks in the car so we can't take her. I don't want to worry the pup as soon as we get in so we've got to come up with a plan. A plan so cunning you could paint stripes on it and call it a tiger. However, we'll probably just lob it into the mix and see what happens.

Best of luck, definitely better in numbers! We have English pointers and just introduced a new pup to our older dog.. we were told by breeder to let them meet in the garden and try and wait for the older dog to invite new arrival into the house when they are looking more comfortable…

We're a bit over a month in and mostly it's been OK. Having a pup in the house is tough work but putting that aside (such as the endless peeing and restless nights), the only real problem we have is that Mina (16 month old existing dog) doesn't like to be touched while she sleeps but the pup wants to snuggle with her so at bedtime there's a phase of growling from Mina until the pup gets the message. He does get the message but he's very bold and tries his luck quite a lot. Hopefully one or the other will give in soon. All things considered though, we're doing good.
