Hi all. After having spent some time washing the inside of my wheel arches I have decided that I have had enough of the leaking ill fitting hose connectors that are mostly yellow. Is there a meaningful alternative that is good value and doesn't involve me being half drowned when washing the car? Cheers. Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

We use brass hozelock style connectors off eBay. They're excellent quality and don't leak 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon

Gardena is a high quality gardening equipment brand, very popular in many West-European countries. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for and it all lasts a long time. Seems available in the UK too.

I was impressed by these for the price. No more leaks and seem to be lasting well. I brew beer up at my parents house. They are on a water meter so I run probably 100 metres of hose across the field on full pressure for 8 hours at a time in order to take the water from my house which is not on a meter. These have stood up well. 2002 110 td5 |

I like the Screwfix and similar brass ones too. I use them in the yard around the horses and the fittings have survived use and abuse including being trodden on by over a ton of horse far better than the plastic type. I do tend to keep the O rings very lightly lubricated with a silicone which makes connecting and disconnecting in the cold with wet hands much easier. Steve.

I bought some really cheap Hozelock copies from Amazon. All of a sudden, Hozelock don't seem so bad

Gardena is in France but is actually the company "Husqvarna".
I use Husqvarna chainsaws all my life so happy with them and Gardena at home for garden. Never have a leak or breaking problem yet. Amazon are distributors of Gardena so I think easy to buy in UK now. |
