Passenger door on puma not shutting fully (solved)
hello

Annoying little problem, door on passenger side needs a good slam to shut or slightly lift the door and it shuts?

Also the passenger door used to 'hold open' on the catch but doesn't any more (drivers one never has been able to hold open on catch)...

So

1) What do I need to look at to make it shut? Can I adjust the door slightly?
2) how do I get the doors to stay open on the catch?

I searched and found the cleaning the lock threads which I will try but they are fairly clean

Thanks in advance

I thought while starting to look at stuff the door has never shut right really since the stainless sills were fitted...

So I took it off, and it decided to chuck it down as I'm half under car Very Happy

Anyway, its off and the door shuts Very Happy

So the passenger can do without for now and I need new bolts to replace what I took out Smile

Have a look at this thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54285.html

For me the problem seems to have been the (lack of a / worn away) nylon "sleeve" on the bit that screws in to the body - wrapping insulating tape around it has proved to be a very good temporary fix.

If you're having to lift the door, check for wear in the hinges, as well as the plastic sleeve issue in the linked thread above. They're notorious for hinge-pin wear and may need replacing.

^ Thanks

I've read loads of thread on google, not sure what I need to adjust

The locks all seem clean and striker looks newish (its a TDCi so quite new)

I feel I need to be able to move the door up a little (tiny bit), but then It looks like it could be the rubbers round the door.

I've also fitted stainless sills a while back and I don't think its been the same since so maybe I should take these off and see if that fix's it?

Pain either way.

Does anyone know what I need to adjust to make the doors stay open as both front ones don't now Sad on the 'click'
