I can't speak for everyone, but my compressor is used for tyre inflation and occasionally as a blower for cleaning air filters etc. It can also be used to engage air locking differentials like ARB's Air Lockers.

FYI - I didn't take a photo, but the outlet for the compressor is on the rear crossmember. The ARB hose has plenty of length to reach all wheels and engine bay. Puma dash switch with compressor logo mounted at lower right of dash replacing a blank.
