They are all on off you can if required fit a mod that will give you intermittent functions.

A 1991 Tdi has a combined wipe (latching turn) and wash (momentary push) switch. I guess the RDX switch is for Td5 2002MY and later, when they split to two separate square switches?

Found the switch on eBay and from the description of the terminals it is simply power in -> power out with illumination.
So at the very least you would need a 5 pin relay to make the rear wiper work. Plus you would have to wire it so it does both the wipe and wash at the same time, you would lose the option to have one or the other. ![]() ![]() |

Thanks for the help, didn't want to go down the relay route if possible. For info I'd already separated the washer circuit out with a momentary Carling switch. I suppose I could always discard the stop circuit wiring and put a direct feed to the motor?

The relay is the only way to get the parking function for the wiper.
So yes if you are happy to have no parking then you can wire direct. ![]() ![]() |

Hi All, I've just had a look at my wiring at the rear wiper end and noticed that I have four wires coming from the wiper switch and the wiper only has 3 wires coming out of it a RLG and a NLG, and an earth. No solid green.
As I've changed the rear door as part of my upgrade project and the original wiring was ripped out, without me making a note of it, duh! has anyone come across this wiring combination before and if so what was the work around? Would like to get it working properly if possible. Any help much appreciated. |
