2016 Defender 90 Puma 2.2 SW Fuji White
Low km Output Shaft Seal Repeated Failure
Hi,

I'm hoping somebody here can provide some advice. I have already had the transmission output shaft seal in my 90 fail a few weeks ago after only 2500km, and today I noticed an oil leak again at the transmission tell tale hole when I'm still only at 3800km!!

I realise this is a known issue, but I haven't spotted any other examples on the forums of this failure happening twice after such low kms. It's still under warranty, so should I simply get it repaired again, or could it be a sign of another contributing issue that I should discuss with the dealer?

I noticed that Ashcroft have a kit that fixes this problem, has anyone had any luck convincing dealers to fit that fix during the warranty period?

My truck is a MY16 and the km are low because it's been stuck in storage most of its life while i've been overseas, but I am back home (Brisbane) now and am keen to make the most of my otherwise fantastic truck without fearing repeated failures.

Thanks

Ando
