As above, plus my TCS (Touring Club Suisse) membership card.
But also a basic Swiss Land Rover tool bag with a tow strap, battery cable and gloves, and a simple tool roll filled with spanners, screw drivers and plyers, plus a good LED flash light. Perhaps a better question would be what tools have you carried around for years and actually ended up using...
In my case - NONE. Although, boy do I still carry a swag full... Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants... |

No actual tools only a Land Rover Assist Card and an iPhone.
In addition - Fire extinguisher, first aid kit, spade, various tow straps, shackles, tie down straps, a bottle of Evian and a few biscuits. Garage is full of mechanics tools and a compressor. Most useful tool in the garage is a pit, (The envy of most of my friends). Defender 90XS SW Mini Countryman Cooper S Morgan Plus 8 |

At my age, my AA membership card is sufficient.
Forty years of laying in puddles under Land Rovers stopped when I was in my sixties. |

Actually, no - I just remembered - I used my 1/4" drive socket set to nip up an injector clamp bolt when it came loose. That definitely got me home on that occasion. Rope, gaffer tape, electrical and electrical tape have also been helpful. Solved the bowel problem, working on the consonants... Last edited by agentmulder on 22nd Apr 2017 8:07pm. Well my last significant journey I had a welder, two air compressors, two air spray guns, two air underbody guns, air impact wrench, air screwdriver, tyre inflator, M18 Impact Wrench, drill and floodlight, socket set, 50+ screwdrivers, chainsaw, rivet gun, soldering iron, spanners, drills, 3d printer.
But didn't have them for use on the journey Normally I just carry jump leads, first aid kit, tow ropes etc., But that's all part of the kit I normally carry for response work rather than use on my own vehicle. Ed 82 Hotspur Sandringham 6x6 95 Defender 110 300Tdi |

Here in Southern Africa, bog-roll is a necessity over any tools (especially with kids on-board)
Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. Douglas Adams 2012 2.2 Puma |

Yes, I have always had a bogroll in a plastic bag. I think I had the same one, which lasted through a Disco 2, Toyota Hilux and two Nissan Patrols.
Other useful stuff: Duct tape, Ty-Raps, WD40 and a Leatherman. Dave's not here man... |
