Looks as is any form of written assurance on the warranty is not going to be forthcoming, just as you thought. Probably sensible to hold on to mine as if they are available for about £100 to £120, it is not of any financial significance. My warranty expires next year so will probably pass it on then. None around at the moment....couple of things I want to sort out before getting the map and if nothing turns up by then I'll just get my current ECU mapped.
