I followed thia series over the past couple of years on Youtube but being in German it obviously didn't have universal appeal. However, the complete rebuild has been condensed into an alomst 2 hour "no words" video. It is well worth a watch if you have ever rebuilt a defender or fancy giving it a go one day.

A great build and obviously a talented guy. I can't understand why he didn't take the body off before starting on the chassis work as a lot of it ended up coming off anyway. He could have got to the top of it just to complete what was a great amount of effort and detail he put into it.
Also he has plenty of space for a good electrolysis setup that would have made his life easier and gave better results than a wire brush in a grinder. He obviously has a larger amount of spare cash than me (by a long way) but he certainly has produced a fine truck and he deserves a pat on the back for his efforts, ingenuity and resolve! Well done Eric 👏 |

I found it an interesting watch - thanks for sharing.
I wouldn’t mind his workshop or his cash flow… I got a bit worried when I saw how he was pressing in his bearings, and there were a couple of other areas I winced at, but overall a great end result and an enjoyable watch |

Agree that would had been easier to remove the tub to replace the rear crossmember. First time to see someone weld in nuts and fit grease nipples to the chassis, presumably to reduce rusting between the overlapping joints. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

I’ve never seen that before Dinnu. Seems like a sensible idea.
