Checked that as well. Thought it may have been slipping when it got wet but no.

At least one of them isn't. 
Seriously though, there aren't many parts to the system, If the belt is in good condition and not slipping and there isn't fluid leaking out of somewhere then it's either going to need a new steering box or Pump. |

Sounds a bit like the pump, as that'd mask any signs of failiure hence full fluid level no leaks etc. Play Stupid Games, Win Stupid Prizes.

So I just got in to go to the dealer and the power steering seems to have returned?
Maybe an airlock? But how would that be possible? Unless some funny angle when off road caused it to suck in some air from the reservoir. Thoughts..? |

is there a pressure relief valve in the pump?
If so it could be sticking open, see if it will repeat the fault by holding it on full lock? good luck Keith |
