Locking wheel nut covers

Hi,
I've just fitted some locking wheel nuts to my alloys, they come with an alloy cover which is very loose so how do you secure them so they don't come off?

Sorted.. I bent them a bit with some pliers.

They go on slightly loose and then carefully with a socket you turn then until they are secure.
Usually around half way on the nut covers.
Needs to be done by hand no force needed.
To remove just the opposite much like undoing a nut.
