Has the water separator been removed from the air box? It's a static fan looking thing in the incoming air duct if it's there
Removal of this can make the filter soggy to the point that it is so restrictive that the turbo starts to suck it in. The extra restriction of the snorkel will exacerbate this 2002 90 Td5 Station Wagon 1990 Vogue SE Triumph Tiger Explorer 1200 Td5 90 Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic50767.html Tdi 110 Thread https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic69562.html RRC Thread http://www.defender2.net/forum/topic54492.html Instagram http://www.instagram.com/george_grafton |

It only happens if they get really wet or wet regulary. I never had that problem yet, but had some wet filters.

Probably very restrictive intake then. The same happened to my old 90 but only when the paper filter was totally blocked with mud!
