Yesterday was the first day of my kids school holidays, so what does my youngest do? She goes and breaks her elbow jumping off a trampoline and only a few days after learning to ride a bike on two wheels so she can't ride her bike for about six weeks now. Ray

Sorry to hear that.
Trampolines are the devil. My daughter was invited to a birthday party at one of these warehouses which has been converted into a giant trampoline park - about 30 minutes into it, the phone call comes... she has landed badly and her ankle hurts. Fractured ankle and torn tendon - resulting in four months off sports (of which she is very active in) and physio for that entire time. It took 12-months before it felt 100% and it meant a very gradual return to competitive sports. We still have our own trampoline in the back garden but they really are a menace. Wishing your daughter a speedy recovery. |

Thanks chaps the odd thing is, we've actually sunk the trampoline level with the ground so she can't have fallen far. I think she must have just landed funny while getting off Ray

Me being a rubbish dad, she did it at one o'clock so I said can you bend your arm (which she did) she sat with me for half an hour then played all afternoon happily, if a little quieter than normal, I thought she'd just sprained it. It wasn't until about 7 o'clock that I thought it looked a bit too swollen so I took her up to a&e and when they said it was broken I felt rather guilty poor kid.... Must be a better parent Ray

My 7yo daughter broke both bones in her wrist falling off our climbing frame, but soon healed and all 100% now, they usually mend well at that age. Wishing a speedy recovery. How frustrating at the start of the holiday! James

Thanks all well the little monkey seems very happy with all the attention she's getting anyway and now the pot is on she's not in any pain anymore so it's just the weekly hospital checkups to sort now Ray
