Do I take it that they will let your son drive, probably got it wrong, as I took my seventeen year old to an experience day a few years ago and they would not let him drive because he did not have a full licence? Have they changed the rules since then. Though he enjoyed the day with myself driving. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

This is for children over 11 years and over 4'8" tall. The vehicles are all evoques with dual controls.

Mercedes do a young driver experience. We paid for a friends daughter to have a couple of visits there before she was old enough to drive. I have often wondered whether JLR were missing a trick?

JLR aren't missing a trick. I work at the offroad centre at the Bath and West Showground, a couple of weeks ago we were restricted where we could drive around the showground, as Jaguar had a young driver day. But they they only had euroboxes to drive. Not a JLR product in sight 110 D250 SE HT

I suppose Mercedes have the A Class or Smart Cars. Smallest JLR is an XE?

My youngest had a taster session some years ago at the Eastnor Land Rover Show. The Experience team were there with a number of Evoques and he got to drive for a good 20 minutes in a roped off part of the Dear Park. The team were really good with the kids and you can imagine the smiles
Best part of it all was that there was no charge on the day |

Good to know all this. I have a grandchild who will be twelve at Christmas and I have been wondering what to buy him, (people of my age will know this) they will also understand why in March I worry about this). Not one of those silly computer games, but being young and driving a Land Rover over terrain) well that is a present indeed. Thanks for the info. Adam has done this today. Well worth it for anyone who is considering it. Thoroughly enjoyable with a great instructor. Some challenging terrain for a 12 year old with zero driving experience.

I happened across this going on somewhere in North Oxon the other week, an open field with half a dozen white ewoks in, and signs for the young drivers thing. Oh the looks when I went past in the 110...
Great idea though getting kids some experience, I bet I'd have loved it when I was that age. 2011 110 USW 1973 Series III 1-Ton 1972 Series III 1-Ton Cherrypicker 1969 IIA 1-Ton 1966 IIA 88" |
