[For Sale] TD5 Engine Acoustic Cover Captive Nut
Hi all,
After being gobsmacked at the official price of these, I bought a bag from my local fixings place. Happy to post these out to people at £3 including postage (literally just covering costs).
Having now just checked, I think I may have led a revolution to get these prices dropped across the board. YAY
"This is for a single replacement M8 captive nut used on the Land Rover Discovery and Defender TD5 engine acoustic cover (PYH100400). This is a steel zinc fitting and made in the UK - it is not a genuine Land Rover part (but a quality aftermarket fitting).
It simply 'clips' into the rear of the square hole located on the Fuel Cooler plate. If you have fat fingers, simply remove the top two (or all 4) 10mm bolts holding the cooler to the manifold for easier access. Depending on how much 'fiddling' you had to do to get it in, you may need to push out the lugs/ears so it's a tight fit.
When i've fitted them, I pull out on the lugs to start, get my fingers down the back, hold it in place and jigger-it home with a flathead screw driver."
