No, but I have stepped off a ladder into a paint roller tray full of emulsion quite a few times. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at..

No, but I once put a bucket of creosote on the roof of a shed and then stepped on the ladder for it to move and tip the bucket over me! I had brown footmarks across the garden for about 6 months to remind me. Didn't catch a cold for about two years tho'

"They" don't allow me near paint anymore, apparently I am a "liability"! Rhubarb and custard let fly with their secret weapon.

I drove into the local Council tip in My Lanny.
A Guy in front of me was unloading his roofrack into a skip. I was negotiatng around him when there was an almighty bang. I had driven over a litre tin of gloss red and it exploded outwards from the tyre. Needless to say as he moved away from his paint soaked car he left a perfect silohouette of himself against the side!! After the initial shock we all saw the funny side Clemmo Make today a little better than yesterday but not so good as tomorrow.... I picked up a pine table I had made- I did a fantastic job if I may say so, was moving it to the new house and didn't trust the removals people, so put it on the roof rack, and put some bags of rubbish in the boot, on the way thought I would go to the dump, went through, massive crack, forgot it had a height restrictor, and ripped the legs off !! I then had to stop pick the legs up and throw them in the big skips, only for someone to say I cant believe your throwing that away its a beauty aaaaaagh !
tried to look cool, but I don't think I did ! |

Couple of years ago I loaded up my Sankey, good for the tip runs as it was only a single axle, get to the tip, pull up to the unloading platform and hand over my trailer pass to be told that the local council had changed them and wouldn't let me unload. Now this was less than a week from when the pass scheme had changed, no letters to the public to tell us just a notice, so they said, in the local paper that I don't buy as it's so much money for property adverts and the latest exploits of the local football team.
To say I was a little annoyed would have been an understatement so I got back in the motor, drove out the gate, went up the road and turned round then came back and parked on the grass by the entrance. I then unhooked the trailer and put all the crap on the roofrack and drove in. Not one of the operatives approached me, they just left me to it. It took two loads but there was no way I was dragging it all back home 8 miles away. The biggest pita was that there is no charge to get these trailer passes, the useless ones I had were still "in date" but they wouldn't accept them as they were "superceeded" As said so many times, it's no wonder there's so much fly tipping with such farcical rules. |
