Its been a number of years since I bought a car, but I need to get one this weekend. My budget is circa £5k so for this price I may be looking at some smaller garages where the chance of "cowboys" is increased. I know I need a HPI check but I've never got one before so have a couple of questions....
Googling "HPI" brings up lots of different places to get a HPI report - are they all the same, with the same basic information? Is there an "approved" website I should get it from? A potential car advertised at a garage says "HPI report present" - is this good enough or should I still get my own done in case theirs is forged or dodgy? Thanks in advance for any advice. |

As a base check, I used MOT checker app on my phone, MyCarCheck also on the phone. and my car check SMS service.
I have always done my own HPI checks to be sure and I have used https://hpicheck.com/product-selection 1999 Defender TD5 110 Regards John M0VAZ Econet Station 48 no clock |

Thanks both.
HPICheck looks to be the official website so I'll get the report there |
