Cloudy plastic visor
I have a safety helmet (think St Johns style) with a plastic flip down visor.
While removing the lettering off the helmet after using a hairdryer to soften the glue on the lettering I used TarOff to remove the remaining glue - which it did fine.

But...then stupid mistake I used the same cloth on the plastic visor which for a moment looked clean.....Then a fog like covering appeared over the plastic Sad

I have tried the following to remove the fog;

Tootpaste
Washing up liquid
Nail varnish remover (in a small area)
Tea Tree hand wash soap
Windowlene
Warm soapy water

But still the fog re-appears.. Sad

Any smart ideas people?

The fog reminds me of the days of making airfix models and getting glue over the plastic windows. 1999 Defender TD5 110

I brought some polish that I used to restore some Perspex side windows on a series 1,
Apparently it's still made by the same company that supplied it to the RAF for cleaning the canopies on Spitfires!

It restored very cloudy Perspex exceptionally well, I will have a look for it in the garage for it and try to find out where I got it from, it was only last year so probably still available?

Meguires also do a plastic headlamp reguvinator kit which works reasonably well. Thumbs Up 80" 80" 86" 88" 90"

I use Brasso to take the scratches off my Perspex watch faces - should work for the visor
