As far as cameras go if you mount it on magnets you can put it exactly where you want when reversing a trailer. It is then simple to change the view when you need to. Obviously not great if you want to stick it to the ali body though ! Click image to enlarge |

I have found top of the rear door to be best as doesn’t’ get muddy. But it still needs a cloth run over it every now and again.

I stuck a small camera under the number/license plate light. Easy to drill the plastic, and run the cables inside.
I mounted a small screen above the rear mirror. I purchased a a door push (Rectangular piece of aluminium), cut it to length, bent it to the contour of the roof, painted it, and fitted it between the mirror and the interior light. Painted it black as the roof lining was black. Done;t have a photo of this - sorry. Then fitted a switch in the cup holder, in the cubby box. Since this, I have another Defender and it came with double din and camera fitted inside the rear cross member. |

I located the camera inside of the rear cross member hole. It's a well-protected spot and easy to wire.
