Oh! Come on. The poor woman is married to this moaning pension rich publicity seeking fellow, who probably would never allow this surly looking woman to drive his foulest vehicle he ever bought.
However, there are always two sides to every story. Perhaps it is his acerbic faced partner who instigated this battle between a tail gate rattle and other things that most Land Rover owners accept. My money is on the poor chap really wanting to go fishing or perhaps to just have a shed and a few bottles of good ale to drink in there and to just get on with living his retirement without trying to grab his local newspaper headlines to look good at the local golf club . Thank god my wife is happy that I own a rattling, leaking, noisy Land Rover, and thinking privately what did he spend his money on and keeps doing so, when he could have bought a BMW M5. That is what a true marriage is. And she always looks happy when i spend time on the Defender (even though yesterday I had a humidifier in the foot well, saying to her, 'trying to dry out a little bit of wet under the mats', saying dearest 'they all leak a little bit', and loving that look that says, ‘well as long as you are happy’. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at.. http://www.youtube.com/user/conwy1 |

Yep in 26 years in the DIY/home improvement retail sector I met many of these cash rich, time rich time wasters for whom an ill-fitting sink plug would ruin their lives. (come on, its £2.50 here's another one. Go away). I think some people enjoy having a go at people who work in retail, hospitality or any customer facing industry because they know they can't fight back and must patiently take it all on the chin, whereas anyone else would just ignore them or tell them to drop dead.

I deal with customers all of the time, I work for an online cycle store.
Some of the complaints are beyond comprehension. I had a lady who literally ended up crying (yes, really) with anger on the phone. We delivered her order, on a guaranteed Next Day, before 1pm service. She rang to complain that it turned up at half past 8 in the morning. It apparently was my 'stupid fault and unprofessional of our company' that she was out walking her dog. Apparently 'before 1pm' should be around 11am, according to her. I asked what she thought should happen I could go on forever. We get price match offers to save money.... But 24p!!!! |

I did see this article for real. I dare bet that they expect stop/start to work every time the car stops when in fact it doesn't. I'd buy the car from them at trade value. It's a bit strong saying unfit for purpose. Anyway it takes the heat off the reporting of the gas main renewal and motorists thinking it has anything to do with me - it doesn't but just because my site is next to road works then it must be my fault. Get abuse from motorists daily at the moment.

A long time ago I worked for a well known vacuum cleaner manufacturer in Wiltshire. We used to save all of the best letters / emails and from time to time revisit them to lift spirits. A favourite memory was when a farmer came into reception with his defunct machine requesting a repair just before the two year warranty expired. He had been using it for almost two years to suck up the last of the cow from the milking parlour and was a bit upset it had packed up. We had hamsters stuck, genitals damaged, endless complaints after sucking up snow (lost on people it melts into water)....It was a source of amusement and bemusement in equal measure.
