Hello, I am buying a 2008 Defender with this puma engine from an english on Sunday. Today I change the lights to make French and soon make it French registrations. With this car I take many things to attach too. I hope to come here for education of this model and to improve my english!
I begin after the lights with some silicone hose to the intercooler and also a small piece to put into the EGR for blocking. For me this engine is more easy to understand and lots of torque. Have a good day! Lé0 |

Thank you very much for the welcome.
I am seeing very soon that there is lots of informations on here which is incredible because it is all gratis and in French forums you do not have detail like this. Also in France we cannot do these modifications to cars like in england so I do not go to the forums here because sometimes a police is reading and will take my defender if they are clear I put the "Alive" tuning on the car and the other pieces the seller provided to me. I am sure that the air cleaner is also illegal in France already because it is not standard paper. Crazy France! I wish you a good day today. Léo |

Yes this is the true thing. The insurance companys of france do not accept anything like this and it is a form of policing. Did you know in France (sorry if you are a French) that we have display of the annual insurance on our windscreens?
But it is also it true thing that police are watching all things even leboncoin and ebay. I know a man who was catched at his house because he put all the details of his Renault conversion. He was losing the vehicle. He was stupid to put all the details onto a forum. Sometimes in France you have very jelous people who also denounce you. This is very common. It is sadness for enthusiasts that this happens but also we have stupid politics in charge. Léo |

Which is crazy really, as they're mostly the same insurance companies - Aviva for example, the worlds largest insurer are British (formerly Norwich Union) i'd bet they operate in France! You also display your Controle Technique too i think. |

Yes, CT and insurance. CT only after four years old and every two years after that. No road tax of course but Autoroutes cost way more if used regularly.

In Ireland its € 1100 a year motor tax for the privilege of Puma ownership And no cheap Carrefour diesel either ( like I always get at St Pierre Eglise ) - its around € 1.29L here. BTW I'm really impressed with your English, guys. Votre Anglais est meilleur que mon Francais
