I can't comment on the leak, as others have said on various posts, clean it well and trace it upwards.
However I'd be dubious about anything the garage have told you, after a few months I'd have expected to see the front timing cover to be looking 'shiny' and new, plus the three stretch bolts that hold the bottom pulley on would look new as well, I can't actually see witness marks in the rust where they have been removed and refitted...... New valves and timing chain would indicate a broken / slipped chain so would need a complete kit with all guides and pulleys, plus I'd have thought it would have totally scrapped the engine. Perhaps the proper mechanics on here who work on these and transits every day can comment? Keith |

Click image to enlarge Sorry for the poor photo, I did the timing chain, front cover, pulley bolts etc in June this year, probably done 1,000 miles since and everything looks 'clean' if you can understand... HTH Keith |
