Very sad. I did'nt see him race but met him a few yrs ago, at Donington, when he was doing some laps in a W196 M-B, a thoroughly likeable, humble, modest and helpful man. I wonder if anyone else will ever make the switch from bikes to cars and win both crowns?

Sad indeed. World Champ on bikes and in a car, no mean feat. I've seen him demonstrate cars and bikes at a few events, always seemed a very approachable guy too. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Despite repeated calls for him to be knighted - it was never done.

Met him a couple of times whilst working for a race team,
Proper bloke, liked a chat and seemed interested in what was going on, I don't think I sill see his recorded matched, but if it ever would be , I'm sure he would of been the first to shake the guys hand God bless him |
