1989 Defender 90 300 Tdi HT Cairns Blue
Snorkel clamp
Hi,
Want to fit a snorkel (well our 10 year old lad wants us to!) ro our Defender (1989 300tdi).
Does anybody know a relatively cheap place to get some clamps for the tube? Or perhaps something that could be adapted
Something like, (from eBay) but cheaper.

I was thinking of using the Southdown top and wing fitment, but source my own stainless tubing (I can get hold of stainless offcuts of stainless pipe).

Thanks

Those clamps only cost £18 give or take. If you are looking for cheaper then pop down to your local fabricator with a photo/drawing and ask them for a quote. Suspect it'll be not far off this price.

I guess the alternative is something like this and then fabricate the windscreen fixings yourself.

The Southdown snorkel is the best on the market in my opinion. The top can be reversed and the fixing through the wing top reduces the potential of leaking joints. Far better than the side fit end seen on other designs.

But I'm biased. Sorry, not the best pic of the snorkel! 80" 1948
