Mission Creep...... Defender 50th Japan Spec
So just over a year ago I purchased a Japan spec Defender 50th off eBay. The guy that sold it to me had always wanted a defender, and box ticked he was ready to move it on! My rational was simple... I too had always wanted a defender and it seemed in good shape underneath and after a quick test drive I was pretty sure it would do me just fine!

I had always planned to spend a reasonable amount to improve suspension etc and cosmetically add some bits to get it looking how I wanted, but keep everything reversible. Keeping all the original parts and nearly everything reversible is probably the only part of the plan I remained faithful too!!

At this point let me just say "MISSION CREEP"........

I have just got it back from having the final few issues of minor corrosion addressed, and whilst I was at it I had the roll cage and rear step powder coated. I'm very happy with the end result though and think it's a pretty unique vehicle with a great v8 soundtrack!..

Thanks for all the positive comments!

Yes, the mudguards are genuine heritage ones but from a 110 as my exhaust comes straight out at the rear rather than the corner like on most 90s. I had to get the rear brackets fabricated with a cut out to slip over the exhaust tip.

I'll try and get a couple of interior shots but it's all pretty standard inside except heated recaros to keep my bum warm and a mono wheel to give me a bit more elbow room!

Another photo I just like.....

I will always kick myself for not buying ginjez's, now Hairy Dans.

Though although not at all shiny, I still have some of the ingredients.

I love the mudflaps.... I may need to start sourcing.
