New headline material is a devil to cut but my advice would be to use a Stanley knife, the plastic type material will quickly blunt the blade so make sure you have plenty of spares.
As the outside of the speaker will hide the cut whole you do not really have to be that perfect. But take it slow going over the circle many times do not try to gut through it in one go. Cut from the front and mask up around the cutting area. I would use an electric tool as there is too much of a risk of slipping and causing damage. The hardest part will be removing the headlining which if you do will make the job much easier. For those who like Welsh Mountains and narrow boats have a look at my videos and photos at.. http://www.youtube.com/user/conwy1 |

Speakers in the front headlining are not a great idea.
One speaker ends up being very close to your ear. Really much better in the dash in my opinion. This was one of the first things I changed when I bought my current defender |
