The idea is that you fit both. The drivers side one is non-functioning, but they look better as a pair. I had them fitted until recently, only removed as I fancied a change and fitted a snow cowl. I don't think they make any dicernable difference to the airflow for the heater as that's all determined by what goes on in the heater box, is matter how quick the air gets to that point! 2005 Td5 | 90 Station Wagon | Tonga Green

No, the KBX vent wouldn't sit properly if the standard blanking plate was left in as well, so it has to be removed. Just means that a bit of rainwater / spray finds its way into the engine bay but it's negligible really, especially on a Land Rover where the bonnet barely fits.
