2011 Defender 130 Puma 2.4 HCPU Keswick Green

Engine number

Does anyone know if there is any way of determining the month the Puma engine was manufactured by looking at the engine number. I have a new engine in my 08 Puma and I'm thinking of when it was actually manufactured to see what if any problems I may have with it. John

see pums tdci post oil filter housing

dgardel, see my post "oil filter housing" I bought the land rover off my brother 26th Dec it broke down the 29th Dec, and today (25.01.11) I finally got it back from the Polish dealer with a new engine fitted under warranty. I'm trying to find out when the new engine was manufatured to see if I may have anymore problems as I'm driving over to the UK the 12th February and would like a good run with some peace of mind. John

Glad to hear you got a new engine. You'll have to check with land rover for your engine number. How is the land rover running now?
