Are you sure it's in the correct socket as there are two on the back of the head unit. From memory it's the unlabelled one which is for the mic.

As Martin suggests, it's worth checking you are using the upper socket.

Many thanks for the quick reply guys.
I have the mic plugged into the hole, thanks for the photo reference. I have also removed the headunit to check for loose wires, which there was none, now time to check which part if any are faulty. |

The microphone gain level can be adjusted using the Option menu settings. There is also a microphone mute setting which you can switch on and off during a call, maybe this is in the off position. Best bet is to download the user manual which gives instructions for both of these settings. I can pm you a pdf copy if you want. Defender 90XS SW
